LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's former senior football players will work out for National Football League (NFL) scouts on Friday on USU's annual "Pro Day," as they evaluate the former Aggies' draft eligible seniors for the upcoming NFL Draft.

"It is important for these young men to come out and really do well on their home turf. They have the ability to perform in front of these scouts. This is where the scouts really expect them to come in and produce, run well and lift well. This is their home environment so they are expected by the scouts to perform well," USU head coach Gary Andersen said. "This is an extremely important day for these young men."

The players will have their height and weight measured, then go through performance tests including vertical jump, broad jump, bench press, shuttle run, L-drill run and the 40-yard dash.

According to USU assistant coach and NFL scouting coordinator T.J. Woods, approximately 15-17 NFL scouts will be on hand.

One of the featured players that the scouts are interested in evaluating is tight end Rob Myers, who had 21 receptions for 320 yards with three touchdowns, leading the nation's tight ends with 15.2 yards per catch his junior season of 2007. His season was highlighted by being named the John Mackey National Tight End of the Week on Nov. 21, 2007 for his career-best outing of 117 yards on four catches with two TD's in USU's win at New Mexico State. However, Myers missed his senior season with a preseason injury.

Myers attended the NFL Combine in February, but his action was limited due to his injury rehab. However, he is fully recovered and ready for Friday's Pro Day.

"Friday is very important to these players. Rob is in a different situation, he went to the combine, but he was limited in what he could do there. He's healthy now and ready to show what he can do," Andersen said.

Another featured Aggie will be safety De'von Hall, who was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game. This past season Hall posted 72 total tackles (33 solo, 39 assists), with two tackles for loss and one sack. He also had a team-high seven pass break-ups, as well as one interception. For his career, Hall ended with 128 career tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions, 13 pass break-ups and four fumble recoveries.

The 2009 NFL Draft takes place April 25-26 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Teams select amateur college players in seven rounds, spread out over two days.
