LOGAN, Utah - Utah State football head coach Matt Wells announced Tuesday the signing of Tyler Floyd to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Aggies beginning in the fall of 2014. Floyd will have two years of eligibility at USU.

Floyd, a 5-9, 185-pound cornerback from Orlando, Fla. (Bishop Moore HS/Fullerton CC) earned California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) second-team all-Central Conference honors in the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) as he recorded 47 total tackles (32-solo, 15-assist) as a sophomore at Fullerton College. During his sophomore season at Fullerton CC, he led the team with four blocked kicks and nine pass breakups, to go along with two interceptions, while returning one punt for 19 yards. He recorded a season-high 10 tackles against Grossmont JC and had a season-best three pass breakups versus Golden West CC.

During the 2013 season, Floyd helped Fullerton CC to a 12-1 record and an appearance in the CCCAA state title game losing to Butte, 28-13.

As a prep senior at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Fla., Floyd rushed for 1,274 yards on 192 carries with 17 touchdowns, and caught 13 passes for 142 yards with two touchdowns. He also returned five kickoffs for 172 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, he recorded 33 tackles and intercepted three passes.
