LOGAN, Utah -

Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hartwell announced Wednesday that the Aggies will play at Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022. Game time and broadcast plans will be announced at a later date.

Alabama will pay Utah State $1,910,000, which is the third-largest dollar amount ever paid to a visiting football team.

This will be the third time that Utah State has traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play the Crimson Tide, also doing so in 2004 and 2005.

“We look forward to the opportunity for our student-athletes to compete against Alabama, as well as the opportunity for our fans to enjoy one of the best game day experiences in all of college football,” said Hartwell.

All-time, Utah State is 1-17 against current members of the Southeastern Conference, which includes an 0-2 record against Alabama. USU’s lone win against an SEC school came back in 1970, when it won at Kentucky, 35-6. The last time USU play an SEC opponent was in 2014, when it opened the season at Tennessee.
