LOGAN, Utah -

Aggie Fact of the Day:
With 2,885 yards passing last season, quarterback Diondre Borel was the first Aggie QB to lead the team in passing with over 2,000 yards since Travis Cox with 2,791 in 2003... Overall, the top USU passer has topped the 2,000-yard plateau in 18 of the last 54 seasons since 1956.

Aggie Tidbit of the Day:
USU's Sept. 4 season-opener is the Aggies' latest first game of a season since also starting the 2004 season on Sept. 4... Utah State's only later season-opener in the last 18 years was in 1998 when USU began the season ledger on Sept. 5.

Thursday was the final two-a-day of preseason camp Utah State football, as the Aggies are wrapping up camp with the countdown winding down to single-digits toward next Saturday's season-opener at No. 7 Oklahoma.

"It was a good, hard work day again. The introduction and preparation for Oklahoma was the biggest difference from this two-a-day compared to any of the others of preseason camp," USU head coach Gary Andersen said. "We completely shifted gears. We treated this morning's practice like it was a regular Monday of game week and we treated the afternoon practice like it was a regular Tuesday of game week."

USU went through Thursday's morning practice in helmets, practice jerseys and shorts before returning for the afternoon session in full pads. Both practices were held at Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium.

"We only went ones on ones and twos on twos for just a little part of practice. We only practiced together as a full team only six of the 22 periods this afternoon, the rest was special teams and scout teams for preparation for Oklahoma," Andersen said.

Thursday's two practices were strenuous sessions on the coaches and players, which is all part of the hard work to get ready for the upcoming season.

"I'm happy to be done with two-a-days, today was a long, hard, hot day. We're just ready to focus on each game, one at a time. The first one is Oklahoma next Saturday. We're turning our full attention to them and get focused on what they do," senior linebacker Bobby Wagner said.

Andersen was pleased with his squad's improvement throughout camp, specifically singling out some units.

"The running backs have been very solid as a unit throughout camp. I think that the most improved crew was the tight ends. They came on strong at the end of camp, which was great to see," Andersen said. "The consistency of the pressure that the defensive line was able to get on the passer throughout camp also makes them a notable group as well."

Besides the units, Andersen also noted two individuals that stood out to him and the coaching staff.

"Two of the guys that practiced as hard as anybody every single day throughout camp were two senior cornerbacks, Chris Randle and Curtis Marsh. Those two take a million reps, they don't bat an eye at anything and they come to work hard day in and day out. I thought those two did a very nice job," Andersen said.

Utah State will have single practices on Friday and Saturday to work on preparations for the 2010 season-opener at No. 7 Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. (MT). The Aggies' home-opener is Saturday, Sept. 11 vs. border-foe Idaho State at 6 p.m. (MT).
