LOGAN, Utah - Utah State Athletics unveiled its new football equipment truck, a tractor-trailer that will carry the Aggies' equipment to all road games, except when the team travels to Hawaii. The use of the truck, which is branded with USU logos and football images, is part of a partnership with Shayne Murdock and WM Transportation.
"This is another great opportunity for Utah State Athletics and our football program to market its brand throughout the country," said USU Vice President and Athletics Director Scott Barnes. "The truck exemplifies the pride we have in our football program and also details our recent successes on the field. We couldn't be happier with the partnership we have with WM Transportation in helping us deliver our equipment in a first-class manner."
The 2014 Freightliner Cascade Evolution Tractor is state-of-the-art and the safest and most technologically advanced vehicle of its kind on the road today, featuring ground breaking aerodynamics for better fuel economy than ever before.
"I'm honored and grateful to be able to help the football program," said Murdock, president of WM Transportation. "This is just the next step to help logistically with getting equipment traveling faster and another way to help the student-athletes."
The tractor portion of the truck features the U-State logo, while the accompanying 53-foot trailer is covered with Aggie football images, including its championship trophies and bowl rings. The famous `I Believe That We Will Chant' is also located on the front of the trailer. Both sides of the trailer include a list of conference and division championships won, along with a reflective Bull, USU's secondary image. On the back of the trailer is more Aggie football images along with this year's schedule.
Graphic design work was done by Catching Design, which is based out of Oklahoma, while former Aggie football player George Zimmerman installed the wrap onto the trailer.
The tractor and trailer will make its debut this weekend in Knoxville, Tenn., for USU's season opener at Tennessee, which will be televised live nationally on the SEC Network (DirecTV Ch. 611, Dish Network Ch. 408, Comcast Ch. 286/765 HD in Cache Valley) at 5 p.m. (MT).
