Coming off its most successful season in school history, Utah State Athletics has seen a significant increase in football ticket sales as it begins its first year of competition in the Mountain West Conference this fall.

Through the combined efforts of the Utah State Ticket Office, outbound telephone sales, on-line ticket sales and walk-up sales, Utah State Athletics has to date already set an all-time record with 8,556 season tickets sold, 2,639 of which have been purchased by new ticket holders. Last season, 6,765 season seats were sold for the entire year.

With still over a week to go until Utah State begins its home season on Saturday, Sept. 14 versus Weber State, Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Barnes expects those ticket numbers to continue to trend upward.

"We are very pleased with the continued growth in our season ticket base and there is plenty of room for more," said Barnes. "A combination of the outstanding product on the field, coupled with an investment in professionalizing our outbound sales effort, has contributed to these record numbers. I appreciate the priority our ticket office has on customer service. I'm confident our fans will really enjoy their game day experience with all of the improvements in fan services we've made."

In addition to season tickets, the USU ticket office has already sold 1,994 two-game ticket packages in 14 different combinations.

To thank ticket buyers this season, members of the Athletics staff and coaches from various sports within the department hand-delivered west side season tickets to fans' homes in Cache Valley.

Utah State football tickets are available by contacting the USU Ticket Office at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum or by phone by calling 1-888-USTATE-1 or (435) 797-0305. Single-game tickets are also available for the Homecoming game against Weber State on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Aggie fans can follow the Utah State athletic program at twitter.com/USUAthletics or on facebook at Utah State University Athletics.
