Utah State Football Fan And Gameday Information For Home-Opener Against Weber State Saturday
Sept. 13, 2013
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State Athletics announced some gameday information for fans in preparation for Aggie football's home-opener on Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium on Saturday as they host in-state foe Weber State for the annual Homecoming game. Gates to Romney Stadium open at 4:30 p.m., with kickoff slated at 6 p.m.
As part of Saturday's Homecoming events, there will be a ceremony prior to the game honoring Aggie student-athletes, coaches and administrators who have passed away. Fans are invited to join former head football coach Chuck Mills, Aggie legend Phil Olsen along with other Aggie coaches and Athletics staff. The brief ceremony will be held at the south gates of the stadium, near the Merlin Olsen statue, at 3:30 p.m.
During the off-season, bleachers were installed along the seats in the south endzone. The seats remain general admission, but the Athletics staff asks that fans be mindful of their seating, and to please sit on an actual seat number as they select their seat. Blankets are still allowed, but fans are asked to please only cover the number of seats they have purchased. Also, umbrellas are prohibited from Romney Stadium.
The south entrance on 800 East is now only open to Blue and Silver pass-holders. Paid parking is accessible on the north end of the lot on 800 East and will be $10 per game. For more parking information, fans can check the parking map on the Utah State Athletics website for additional parking available and traffic guidelines.
Additionally, 1000 North will once again be closed to thru traffic from the east and west in front of the Romney Stadium South Ticket Office. Fans are encouraged to use 1400 North when traveling east toward the stadium.
Utah State Athletics is inducting its 11th Hall of Fame class this weekend, honoring Candy Cashell, Jim Laub, Jimmy Moore, Corey Murdock, Roy Shivers and Jim Turner. The group will be celebrated at the Hall of Fame Banquet Friday night and will be recognized during halftime of Saturday's game.
