Utah State's Zach Vigil and Kerwynn Williams Earn College Football Performance Honors Following Wisconsin Game
Vigil had seven tackles and Williams had 121 all-purpose yards against the Badgers.

Utah State's Zach Vigil and Kerwynn Williams both earned national honorable mention honors from College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) following Utah State's hard-fought 16-14 loss at No. 22 Wisconsin Saturday.
Vigil, a 6-2, 228-pound sophomore linebacker from Clearfield, Utah (Clearfield HS) had seven tackles (4-solo, 3-assist) to go along with two tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one sack against the Badgers to earn honorable mention Linebacker of the Week honors from CFPA. Vigil's forced fumble in the second quarter set up Utah State's second touchdown of the game as the Aggies led 14-3 at halftime.
BYU's Kyle Van Noy was named the Performer of the Week at linebacker by CFPA, and Vigil joined Yawin Smallwood (Connecticut), Phillip Steward (Houston), Brandon Magee (Arizona State), Michael Mauti (Penn State), Ryan Shazier (Ohio State), Manti Te'o (Notre Dame), Tyrone Clark (Northern Illinois), Adrian Hubbard (Alabama), Bryce Hager (Baylor), Montese Overton (East Carolina), Chris Rabb (UAB) and Steve Edmond (Texas) as honorable mention award winners.
On the season, Vigil ranks second on the team and tied for 13th in the Western Athletic Conference with 22 tackles (7.3 pg). Vigil also ranks second on the team with 2.0 tackles for loss and is one of five Aggies to record a sack on the season. He also has two quarterback hurries and one pass breakup to go along with his forced fumble against Wisconsin and blocked kick against Utah that was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.
Williams, a 5-8, 189-pound senior running back from Las Vegas, Nev. (Valley HS) earned honorable mention All-Purpose Performer of the Week honors from CFPA as he caught a career-high six passes for a career-high 78 yards against Wisconsin, including a 39-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter, the first of his career. Williams also rushed 16 times for 43 yards in the game and finished with 121 all-purpose yards.
California's Brenden Bigelow was named the All-Purpose Performer of the Week by CFPA, and Williams joined Duke Johnson (Miami), De'Anthony Thomas (Oregon), Ameer Abdullah (Nebraska), Stefon Diggs (Maryland), Romar Morris (North Carolina), Trey Burton (Florida), Antonio Andrews (Western Kentucky), Marquise Goodwin (Texas), Isaiah Burse (Fresno State), Robbie Rouse (Fresno State) and Ladarius Perkins (Mississippi State) as honorable mention award winners.
On the season, Williams leads the team and ranks fourth in the WAC in rushing (67.0 ypg). Williams also ranks eighth in the league in all-purpose yards (98.0) and 10th in total offense per game (67.0).
Utah State (2-1) travels to Colorado State this week to play the Rams on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 5 p.m. CSU is 1-2 on the season following a 40-20 loss at San Jose State last weekend. USU's 2-1 start this year is its best since 1997.
