Utah State Football Supplemental Game Day Notes - at Idaho

LOGAN, Utah -
Utah State (4-5, 2-2 WAC) will be seeking its fifth win of the season on Saturday, Nov. 19, heading to Moscow, Idaho to take on Idaho (2-8, 1-4 WAC) in a 3 p.m. (MT) kickoff from UI's Kibbie Dome... A win would give USU its first five-win season since 2000 and its first three-game conference win streak since the same season... Saturday is also USU's first return to Moscow since 2009's 52-49 shootout at the Kibbie Dome corral.
POSTGAME -- Utah State's locker room is closed to the media. After a brief cooling off period, head coach Gary Andersen and selected players will be available at a designated area. All player requests should be made to Zach Fisher prior to the five-minute mark of the fourth quarter.
ON TV -- Saturday's Aggies-Vandals match-up will be televised on ESPN Regional, airing on Altitude (Comcast Ch 61/Direct TV Ch 681/Dish Network Ch 410), with the "Trey and Jay Show" calling the action, as Trey Bender will handle play-by-play duties with Jay Taylor providing analysis... It is the fourth time this season that Bender and Taylor have been the talent crew for a USU game, joining Weber State, Fresno State and Louisiana Tech games.
ON THE AIR -- Beginning this fall, in addition to KVNU 610 AM in Logan, all Utah State football games are carried live on KZNS 97.5 FM (Salt Lake City), KZNU 1450 AM (St. George), KVEL 920 AM (Vernal), KRPX 95.3 FM (Price) and KCPX 1490 AM (Moab)... The Aggie Sports Network will also carry the one-hour pregame and postgame shows for every Aggie football in addition to the 50-minute weekly coaches shows... 113 / 119 -- USU is taking the field for the 113th season of football in 119 years. The Aggies beat Utah, 12-0, in 1892, but then did not field a team until 1896, when they again only played one game but then played every year since with the exceptions of 1918 when to World War I and influenza cancelled the season and 1943 due to World War II.

TIME TRAVELERS -- Saturday's game is the Aggies' second and final trip to the Pacific Time Zone, making the first for the game at Fresno State on Oct. 15... USU has played on the road in four different time zones this season... The Aggies opened the season in the Central Time Zone at Auburn on Sept. 3, then played in the Mountain Time Zone at BYU on Sept. 30... The Aggies then made the first of two trips to the Pacific Time Zone for the game at Fresno State on Oct. 15, before playing in the Hawaii-Aleutian Time Zone at Hawai'i on Nov. 5... USU closes out the season in the Mountain Time Zone at New Mexico State on Dec. 3.
ROAD TRIPPIN' -- Saturday's game at Idaho is Utah State's second-shortest road trip of the season for the optimists and fourth-longest for the pessimists:

+.500 CONFERENCE RECORD -- A win Saturday would push USU to 3-2 in WAC play, the Aggies' best WAC mark through five games in their seven years in the league... It would be the best conference mark through five games since a 3-2 Big West Conference mark through five league games in 2003, losing the last two to finish with a 3-4 BWC ledger.
WILL THE THRILL -- While USU does not have any players from the state of Idaho on the travel roster, as the Aggies' lone Idaho native is redshirting freshman WR Jordan Storrs, who is from Boise, but junior CB Will Davis is from nearby Spokane, Wash... Davis is expected to have a nearly 50-member personal cheering section in the Kibbie Dome.
Davis was a second-team all-Greater Spokane League selection in only year of football at Central Valley HS, logging seven INT's, while also tallying 33 tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery... He also played wide receiver, making 16 catches for 135 yards and four touchdowns... Besides the one year of football, Davis also earned three letters in basketball and four in track & field... He earned honorable mention all-league and team MVP honors as a senior in basketball and was a two-year starter... As a sophomore, he played on team that was Class 4A state runner-up... In track & field, David placed third in triple jump at state meet as a senior and was regional champion as junior, posting a personal record triple jump of 46-0... Off the field, Davis was an Associated Student Body President at CVHS.
BOOM GOES THE PUNTS -- Both USU and Idaho have strong punters in Aggies' punter Tyler Bennet and Vandals' punter Bobby Cowan, both of whom were on the Ray Guy Award Watch List, for the top punter in college football... While Bennett did not advance to the semifinal list, but Cowan was one of the 10 punters on the semifinal list... Cowan leads not only the WAC, but FBS in punting with a 47.0 yards per punt average, while Bennett is third in the WAC and nine in the FBS with a 45.0 ypp average... Cowan also leads the nation in punts, with 79 punts on the season while Bennett has 40 punts.
