LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's Jaron Bentrude has earned honorable mention National Punter Performer of the Week honors from College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) following Utah State's 13-0 win against Colorado State this weekend.

A junior from Salt Lake City, Utah (Juan Diego HS), this is Bentrude's first time receiving the award.

Against CSU, Bentrude had a career-high eight punts downed inside the 20, with three of them downed inside the 10. Those eight punts downed inside the 20 resulted in CSU having an average starting field position of its own 16 during the game, while USU's average starting field position was its own 49. Overall, Bentrude punted nine times in the game for an average of 37.9 yards per kick with a long of 53 yards.

On the season, Bentrude now has 23 punts downed inside the 20 and 11 downed inside the 10. He currently ranks 11th in the Mountain West and 86th in the nation in punting (39.2 yak).

Pat O'Donnell of Miami was named the CFPA National Punter Performer of the Week, while Bentrude shares honorable mention accolades with Hunter Mullins (UAB), Tom Hornsey (Memphis), Austin Rehkow (Idaho), Richie Leone (Houston), Richie Hogan (Central Michigan), Derek Carr (Fresno State), Sam Foltz (Nebraska), Drew Riggleman (Arizona) and Jake Medlock (FIU).

Utah State is back at Romney Stadium this week to wrap-up the regular season against Wyoming in the first official "Bridger's Battle," a new rivalry series with the Cowboys. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. (MT) and the game will be televised on ROOT Sports.
