Utah State Football Will Begin Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Activities Tuesday With Strikes For Spuds Charity Event

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State football is scheduled to leave for Boise, Idaho Tuesday morning via bus and will participate in various Famous Idaho Potato Bowl functions throughout the week.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will kick-off bowl week activities Tuesday evening (Dec. 11) with the Strikes for Spuds bowling event at Pinz Bowling Center at the Wahooz Family Fun Zone in Meridian, Idaho. The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. MST.
The 24-lane facility will host both Utah State and Toledo, where both teams' offensive and defensive squads will face off to raise food donations. The donated products will be split between Boise-based and the teams' hometown charities to be used in their community outreach efforts.
Idaho-based companies, the J.R. Simplot Company and Potandon Produce will provide the potato product donations, while Food Services of America will match with a donation total of 400-lbs. of ground beef.
Strikes for Spuds is the first in a full week of bowl activities for the Aggies and Rockets. The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will take place on Saturday, December 15 with a 2:30 p.m. MST start at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
