Keylon Hollis Dismissed From Utah State Football Team

Hollis, a 6-2, 235-pound linebacker from Houston, Texas (Cypress Creek HS/Bakersfield College) appeared in nine games for Utah State this season and recorded nine total tackles (3-solo), including 0.5 for loss. His best game as an Aggie was in USU's 70-6 home win against Weber State on Sept. 14 as he had six tackles, including 0.5 for loss.
Hollis transferred to Utah State this summer after spending the previous two years at Bakersfield (Calif.) College. As a sophomore, he was named the National North Conference Defensive Player of the Year in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) as he had 68 tackles (52 solo) and 16.5 sacks, helping the Renegades to an 11-2 record and the CCCAA state championship with a 35-14 win against City College of San Francisco. Hollis also earned first-team all-conference honors during his freshman season at Bakersfield College as he had 42 tackles, including 17.0 for loss, to go along with 12.5 sacks.
Utah State (8-5, 7-1 MW) will conclude its 2013 season in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl against No. 24 Northern Illinois (12-1, 8-0) on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 6:30 p.m. (PT) and the Aggie pregame tailgate will be from 4-5:30 p.m. (PT). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. USU is 1-0 all-time against the Huskies.
