For Higham, it is the best individual finish by an Aggie golfer since the fall of 1996.
Utah State's Tanner Higham Tied for First Following Opening Round of Southern Utah Hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational
Higham began the tournament with a 1-over 37 on the front nine before carding a 3-under 33 on the back nine.
The two-day tournament will be held at the Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.
2012-13 (Fr.): Finished the season with a stroke average of 92.50 over two rounds... His only competition of the season came at the Air Force hosted Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational where he recorded a 41-over 185 (93-92).
2009-10 (RS): Redshirted during the year.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Pocatello (Idaho) High School... Won six tournaments in a row as a senior... Placed second in the state golf tournament in 2009... Placed third in state in both sophomore and junior seasons... Won two state team championships... Also lettered twice in basketball and helped his team finish second at state as a senior and third as a junior.
Personal: Son of Nord and Shawna Pearson... One of three children... Brother, Ty, was a member of the BYU and Idaho State golf teams... Sister, Lacey, played soccer at BYU and Idaho State... Returned from a two-year LDS Church Mission in San Diego, Calif., in 2012... Majoring in communicative disorders and deaf education.
