Utah State Has 98 Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-WAC Honors This Spring

Of its 44 academic all-WAC selections from its spring sports, Utah State had 18 student-athletes from women's outdoor track honored, along with 12 from men's outdoor track, five from women's tennis, four from both softball and men's tennis, and one from the men's golf team.

Utah State finished in eighth-place with a 55-over 919 (294-313-312).

USU is currently in fifth-place after the first day of competition with a 6-over 294.

Honors: Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar (2016, 2017); Academic All-Mountain West (2016, 2017); Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2016, 2017); Academic All-WAC (2012).

2016-17 (Sr.): Finished the season with a stroke average of 72.32 over 28 rounds, which ranked first on the team… Recorded a season-best 54-hole score of 8-under 208 (73-69-66) at the South Dakota State-hosted Jackrabbit Invitational… Best tournament finish was at the Bill Cullum-hosted Cal State Northridge Invitational where he tied for sixth by shooting a 7-under 209 (70-68-71)… Had two other top-10 finishes including the Jackrabbit Invitational, finishing tied for eighth among all competitors and first among all Aggies, and at the Mark Simpson-hosted Colorado Invitational, where he recorded a 5-under 211 (70-69-72) to tie for ninth… Had five rounds in the 60s and nine rounds under par, helping him lead the Aggies with four finishes under par… In the summer of 2016, qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship, where he shot a 6-over 76 in the second round to finish with a 36-hole score of 9-over 149… Earned academic all-Mountain West honors, was a MW Scholar-Athlete and was a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar.

2015-16 (Jr.): Finished the season with a stroke average of 73.31 over 29 rounds, which ranked third on the team... Recorded a career-best 54-hole score of 9-under 204 (68-66-70) at the OGIO Utah Invite... Best tournament finish was also at the OGIO Utah Invite, where he finished third and helped lead Utah State to a season-high second-place team finish... Had another top-10 finish when he shot a 6-under 210 (72-70-68) at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic to finish eighth overall and first among Aggies... Had five rounds in the 60s... During the summer of 2015, Jenson qualified for the Colorado Open, where he finished tied for 43rd with a 1-under 287 (68-73-72-74)... Named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.

2014-15 (So.): Finished the season with a team-leading stroke average of 72.50 over 14 rounds... Season-best 54-hole score was a 6-under 210 (74-64-72) at the Weber State-hosted Battle in the Tetons... Best tournament finish was also at the Battle in the Tetons as he placed second, helping the Aggies win the tournament title... Also shot his collegiate-low round of 8-under 64 at the Battle in the Tetons... Tied for seventh at the Gene Miranda Air Force Invitational with a 4-under 212 (70-70-72)... Had one round in the 60’s and four rounds under par... Recorded two top-10 finishes.

2011-12 (Fr.): Finished the season with a stroke average of 75.45 over 29 rounds, which ranked second on the team... Season-best 54-hole score was an even-par 213 (72-69-72) at the Boise State-hosted Dash Thomas Memorial... Best tournament finish was also at the Dash Thomas Memorial as he tied for 14th... Also shot his collegiate-low round of 2-under 69 at the Dash Thomas Memorial... Had seven top-30 finishes during the year and finished the season tied for 23rd at the WAC Championships with a 13-over 229 (72-74-83)... Earned academic all-WAC honors.

High School: A three-year letterwinner at Chaparral High School in Parker, Colo... Named first-team all-league during the 2010-11 season... Took third in the PGA Junior Series... Finished second in the Junior PGA Colorado... Ended high school career with a stroke average of 73.00.

Personal: Son of Trevor and Jennifer Jenson... Has two sisters and one brother... Graduated in the spring of 2017 with a degree in finance... Served a two-year LDS Church Mission in Chile... Grandfather Merlin Jenson also played golf at Utah State.
