Aggie Golfers Finish In 11th-Place At Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah -
Utah State's men's golf team opened its 2009 spring season with an 11th-place finish at the fifth annual Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University here at the Sunbrook Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. The Aggies finished the two-day, 36-hole tournament with a 42-over par 618 (318-300).
Senior Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah) led Utah State with rounds of 77 and 73 to tie for 16th overall with a six-over par 150. Sophomore Benjamin Schilleman (Layton, Utah) finished tied for 27th at eight-over 152 as he carded rounds of 79 and 73, and junior Thad Truman (Blackfoot, Idaho) tied for 56th with a 36-hole score of 157 with rounds of 79 and 78. Seniors Devin Daniels (Hyde Park, Utah) and Toph Peterson (Logan, Utah) also competed for USU and finished tied for 80th and 82nd, respectively, with scores of 163 (87-76) and 164 (83-81).
Utah State will continue its spring schedule on Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3, when it travels to Riverside, Calif., to compete in the Braveheart Classic.
