Seokwon Jeon Leads Aggie Golfers To Fourth-Place Finish at South Dakota State Hosted Jackrabbit Invitational

Sophomore Seokwon Jeon tied for 14th-place with a 5-over par 221 (73-67-81) to help Utah State finish in fourth-place out of 15 teams at the South Dakota State hosted Jackrabbit Invitational held here at the Primm Valley Golf Club.
Utah State finished the 54-hole tournament with a 34-over 898 (296-290-312), while UNLV won the team championship with a 19-under 845 (275-284-285). The Rebels also had the top individual in the tournament as Kurt Kitayama took medalist honors with a 7-under 209 (70-71-68).
On the season, Utah State has now competed in eight tournaments and has recorded seven top-10 finishes, including five top-five places.
Jeon, a sophomore from Salt Lake City, Utah, began the tournament with a 1-over 73 before carding a 5-under 67 during his second 18 holes Monday to tie his collegiate-best round. Jeon then finished the tournament with a 9-over 81 on Tuesday for his 5-over par 221 (73-67-81).
Senior Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) tied for 23rd-place for Utah State with a 9-over 225 (72-75-78), while fellow senior Grahm Schmaltz (Kalispell, Mont.) tied for 29th-place with a 10-over 226 (74-74-78). Freshman Braxton Miller (Boise, Idaho) tied for 35th-place with a 12-over 228 (77-74-77) and sophomore Reed Platke (Whitefish, Mont.) tied for 63rd-place with a 21-over 237 (77-81-79).
Utah State will return to action on Monday, April 7 when it travels to Scottsdale, Ariz., to compete in the Wyoming hosted Cowboy Classic.
