SAN JOSE, Calif. - Utah State is in eighth-place after the second day of competition at the 47th annual Western Athletic Conference Golf Championships held here at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club Tuesday. USU was tied for seventh after shooting a 23-over par 311 on Monday, and followed that up with a 28-over 316 on Tuesday.

New Mexico State continues to lead the tournament with a 12-over 588, while Boise State is in second with a 15-over 591. Fresno State is in third-place (601), followed by Louisiana Tech (613), Nevada (615), San Jose State (615), Idaho (621), Utah State (627) and Hawai'i (633).

Leading the way for Utah State is junior Devin Daniels (Hyde Park, Utah) who is currently in 15th-place with an eight-over 152 after shooting a six-over 78 on Tuesday. Daniels finished second at the 2007 WAC Championships at seven-under.

Other Aggies competing in the championships include senior Jeremy Pack (Salt Lake City, Utah) and junior Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah) who are tied for 29th with a 15-over 159 as Pack carded an eight-over 80 on Tuesday, while Labrum finished with an 11-over 83. Junior Toph Peterson (Logan, Utah) is tied for 36th with a 16-over 160 after shooting a 78 in the second round, and freshman Dan Heath (Smithfield, Utah) sits tied for 41st at 19-over after recording an eight-over 80 on Tuesday.

The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Wednesday with the third round beginning at 7:30 a.m. (PT). Live scoring is available at www.utahstateaggies.com.
