Brendon Ehlers Leads USU Golf Team To Eighth Place WAC Championships Finish

BOISE, Idaho - Brendon Ehlers finished strong shooting a three-under 68 to Utah State on the final day of competition at the WAC Golf Championships here Wednesday.
Utah State posted a team score 295 on Wednesday, the lowest the team shot in the tournament, to finish with a score of 909 and move into eighth place, two strokes ahead of Louisiana Tech. New Mexico State held its lead to win the team title with a final team score of 861.
Ehlers went into the final round tied for 30th place at 10-over par, but finished strong on his final nine holes as he recorded four birdies and an eagle to finish with a total score of 220 and tie for 12th.
"Brendon played well on the back nine especially," said head coach Dean Johansen. "He birdied the final hole to shoot 30 on the back, which is very good at this course."
Brett Black finished with a total score of 235 and a 40th place after shooting a 78 in the final round, while Brad Morrison finished at 241 food for 44th place after shooting his best round of the tournament with a 76 Wednesday.
"The guys played very well today." Johansen said.
The WAC Championships concludes the Aggies season.
