Utah State's Tanner Higham Records Best-Ever Collegiate Finish Placing Fifth at Weber State hosted Battle in the Tetons
Utah State's Tanner Higham recorded his best-ever finish as he tied his 54-hole collegiate low with a 1-under par 215 to place fifth at the Weber State hosted Battle in the Tetons held here at the Headwaters Golf Club at Teton Springs.
As a team, Utah State tied for third out of eight teams with a 24-over 888 after shooting a 7-over 295 Tuesday. USU began the tournament with a 19-over 307 during its first round, before carding a 2-under 286 in its second round Monday, which was the second-best round of the afternoon. Wyoming won the tournament with a 17-under 847 (277-285-285), while the Cowboys' Eddie Stewart took medalist honors with an 8-under 208 (68-69-71).
Higham, a junior from Shelley, Idaho shot a final round 2-under 70 Tuesday after carding rounds of 74 and 71 Monday to record his 1-under 215. Freshman Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) shot an even par 72 during his final round to finish tied for 15th with a 5-over 221 (79-70-72). Freshman Reed Platke (Whitefish, Mont.) tied for 24th with an 11-over 227 (74-77-76), senior Brendan Dennis finished in 34th-place with a 15-over 231 (80-74-77), and junior Zach Waxler (Casper, Wyo.) was 38th with a 17-over 233 (80-71-82).
Utah State returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 9 when it travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete in the U.S. Air Force Academy hosted Falcon Invitational.
