Devin Daniels Leads Men's Golf To 18th-Place Finish At Falcon Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah State's Devin Daniels tied for 51st place at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational as he finished the 56-hole tournament with a nine-over par 225. As a team, Utah State finished in 18th-place with a score of 919. Iowa State and Wichita State tied for first overall with a 12-under par 852 as the Shockers Ryan Spears claimed top honors individually with a 13-under par 203. ISU's Chris Baker (207) placed second, while teammate Cedric Bertin was third (210). Daniels, a junior from Smithfield, Utah was tied for 30th with a three-over par 147 after shooting a 73 and 74 in the first two rounds, but shot a six-over par 78 during the final 18 holes to finish tied for 51st. Junior Brandon Broadhead (Brigham City, Utah) shot a one-under par 71 during the opening 18 holes to lead Utah State, but finished with rounds of 81 and 83 to finish tied for 89th with a 19-over par 235. Junior Alex Putnam (Mesquite, Nev.) was Utah State's second overall finisher as he recorded a 15-over par 231 (73-81-77) to tie for 76th-place. Freshman Dan Heath (Smithfield, Utah) also placed 89th for USU with a 19-over par 235 (81-79-75), while junior Jeremy Pack (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed 96th with a 22-over par 238 (81-77-80).
