Utah State's Benjamin Schilleman tied for 24th with rounds of 72, 75 and 72 to help Utah State's men's golf team finish in 10th-place out of 17 teams at the Ron Moore Invitational hosted by Denver University on Monday and Tuesday.

Utah State entered the final round in 13th-place before shooting a 283, its best round of the tournament, to move up three spots as it finished with a team score of 886 (308-295-283). Overall, it is the second straight top-10 finish for the Aggies who finished seventh in a tournament hosted by the U.S. Air Force Academy in early September.

Colorado ran away with the team title as it shot a 39-under par 825 (276-274-275). The Buffaloes had the top two individual finishers as Pat Grady shot a 12-under 204 and Derek Tolan finished with an 11-under 205.

Schilleman, a sophomore from Layton, Utah finished the tournament with a three-over 219 for Utah State, while senior Devin Daniels (Hyde Park, Utah) finished tied for 34 with a four-over 220. Daniels began the tournament with a seven-over 79 before carding scores of 70 and 71 to move up the leaderboard.

Other Aggies to compete included senior Toph Peterson (Logan, Utah) who finished tied for 46th (224), senior Tyler Labrum (Roosevelt, Utah) who tied for 67th (229), and senior Jeremy Pack (Salt Lake City, Utah) who tied for 87th (237). After shooting a nine-over 81 in his first 18-holes, Peterson shot a two-over 74 in the second round, followed by a three-under 69 which was the best round for USU in the tournament.

Utah State will continue its fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30 when it travels to Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the Oral Roberts Invitational.
