Aggie Golfers Finish In 18th-Place At Falcon Invitational

Utah State's Benjamin Schilleman fired a final round 77 to finish tied for 20th-place with a one-over par 217 at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational held here over the weekend. As a team, Utah State finished in 18th-place with a 41-over 905 (297-292-316).
Colorado State won the tournament with a nine-under 855 (288-284-283), while Northern Colorado's Steve Bidne took medalist honors with a 10-under 206 (68-69-69).
Schilleman, a junior from Layton, Utah, began the tournament with an even-par 72 and then carded a four-under par 68 during his second 18-holes and was tied for seventh heading into the final round. Junior teammate Tyson McFarland (Rexburg, Idaho) finished the tournament tied for 36th with a four-over 220 (73-70-77), and senior Thad Truman (Blackfoot, Idaho) tied for 87th with a 17-over 233 (76-74-83). Also competing for USU were freshmen Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) and Austin French (Idaho Falls, Idaho) who finished tied for 101st and 103rd, respectively with scores of 238 and 239.
Utah State will return to action on Monday, Sept. 28 when it participates in the Purple & Red Invitational hosted by Utah and Weber State at the Valley View Golf Club in Layton, Utah.
