Utah State's Reed Platke Finishes Tied For 15th at Boise State Hosted Dash Thomas Memorial

Reed Platke maintained his position from the first day of competition, finishing tied for 15th-place with a 1-over 214 at the Boise State hosted Dash Thomas Memorial held here Monday and Tuesday at the The Club at SpurWing. Utah State ended the tournament tied for seventh-place in the 13-team field with a 19-over 871 (297-284-290). Washington State won the tournament with a 9-under 843 (286-275-282) and Utah Valley's Mason Casper took medalist honors with a 7-under 206 (66-69-71). Platke, a freshman from Whitefish, Mont., began the tournament with a 3-over 74 and then carded a season-best 2-under 69 during his second 18 holes Monday before finishing with an even-par 71 Tuesday.Freshman Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) tied for 43rd with a 9-over 222 (78-67-77), including a 67 during his second round which is the lowest round by an Aggie golfer this year. Senior Kris Sayer (Idaho Falls, Idaho) also tied for 43rd with a 9-over 22 (78-73-71), as did fellow senior Brendan Dennis (Roosevelt, Utah) who had rounds of 75, 75 and 72. Junior Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) was USU's fifth competitior and finished tied for 52nd with a 12-over 225 (70-79-76).
