Utah State Golfer Eli Rogers Tied for Eighth After First Round of Cal State Northridge Hosted Bill Cullum Invitational

Utah State golfer Eli Rogers shot an opening round 1-under par 71 and is currently tied for eighth-place at the Cal State Northridge hosted Bill Cullum Invitational held here at the Woods Ranch Golf Club Monday.
Utah State currently sits tied for 15th-place in the 20-team field after shooting a 13-over 301 during its opening round. San Diego has a 2-shot lead on the field after carding a 6-under 282, while Arizona State's Jon Rahm sits on top of the leaderboard after firing a 5-under 67 during his first 18 holes.
Rogers, a redshirt freshman from Hamilton, Mont., just missed tying his collegiate low round by one stroke with his 1-under 71 Monday. Sophomore Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) is currently tied for 46th with a 2-over 74, while junior Grahm Schmaltz (Kalispell, Mont.) and sophomore Brennan Coburn (Layton, Utah) are both tied for 86th-place after carding 6-over 78's during their opening rounds. Senior Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho) is also competing for USU and is currently tied for 91st at 7-over 79.
The second round of the tournament was postponed Monday due to darkness and will be finished Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. (MT). A shotgun start for the final round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (MT).
