Utah State Golfer Tanner Higham Finishes Tied for 35th at Cal State Northridge Hosted Bill Cullum Invitational

Utah State golfer Tanner Higham shot a final round 4-under 68 to finish tied for 35th with a 4-over par 220 at the Cal State Northridge hosted Bill Cullum Invitational held here at the Woods Ranch Golf Club Monday and Tuesday.
Utah State finished the tournament in 17th-place out of 20 teams with a 41-over 905 (301-311-293). Cal State Fullerton won the team title with a 15-under 849 (288-280-281), while Long Beach State's Daniel Chian took medalist honors with a 10-under 206 (72-68-66).
Higham, a senior from Shelley, Idaho began the tournament with a 7-over 79, before fighting back with a 1-over 73 during his second round and a 4-under 68 during his final round. Sophomore Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) also shot a 4-under 68 during his final round Tuesday to finish tied for 43rd with a 5-over 221 (74-79-68). Junior Grahm Schmaltz (Kalispell, Mont.) and redshirt freshman Eli Rogers (Hamilton, Mont.) both tied for 91st at 20-over 236 as Schmaltz had rounds of 78, 78 and 80, while Rogers had rounds of 71, 81 and 84. Sophomore Brennan Coburn (Layton, Utah) also competed for USU and tied for 93rd-place at 21-over 237 (78-82-77).
Utah State will return to action on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 10-11 when it begins its spring season at the Southern Utah hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah.
