Blair Scores 1 1/2 Points For USU As Aggies Trail SUU in Golf Duel Meet

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Jake Blair scored one and one half points for Utah State, but the Aggie golf team trails Southern Utah 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 after the first day of the Ryder Cup style duel between the two schools here on Saturday. Blair teamed with Brendon Ehlers as they defeated Jared Brader and Jyson Lancaster 4 and 3 in the alternate shot format. SUU claimed the other two alternate shot matches to outscore the Aggies 2-1. In the four-ball matches, Blair helped USU gain one half point as he teammed with Jared Humphries as they tied Lancaster and Eric Neilson. SUU then claimed the other two matches in winning that format 2 1/2 to 1/2. The teams will conclude their duel with six single matches on Sunday. Each of those matches will be worth one point.
