Aggie Golfers Continue 2012 Spring Season at Washington State Getaway
Utah State's men's golf team will continue its 2012 spring season on Monday, Feb. 27 at the Snowman Getaway hosted by Washington State University in Goodyear, Ariz. The two-day tournament will be held at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team will continue its 2012 spring season on Monday, Feb. 27 at the Snowman Getaway hosted by Washington State University in Goodyear, Ariz. The two-day tournament will be held at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start both days. The tournament will play at par-72 over the 7,015-yard layout.

Missouri claimed the team championship last year with a 23-under 841 (280-280-281), and the Tigers Emilio Cuartero was the individual champion with a score of 10-under par 206 (71-65-70). USU finished in ninth-place at last year's Snowman Getaway with a 30-over 894 (283-310-301), while Aggie senior Chanse Godderidge finished tied for 68th with a 20-over 236 (77-80-79).

This year's 16-team field includes Bradley, British Columbia, Gonzaga, Loyola (Md.), Missouri State, UMKC, UNC Greensboro, North Dakota, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, Seattle, South Dakota, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Utah State, Utah Valley and host Washington State. Individuals from Arizona State, UCLA and Western Texas College will also compete.

Scheduled to compete for the Aggies will be Godderidge, along with sophomore Tanner Higham and freshmen Brennan Coburn, Tanner Jenson and Andrew Paulson.

Utah State began its spring two weeks ago finishing in ninth-place at the 14-team Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University with a 27-over 603 (298-305).

Higham was USU's top individual player at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational as he tied for seventh-place with a 1-under par 143 (70-73) for his second-best collegiate finish. Jenson tied for 27th with a 5-over 149 (72-77), while Godderidge tied for 59th with an 11-over 155 (77-78). Utah State also had two individuals competing in the tournament as Paulson tied for 45th with a 9-over 153 (75-78) and Coburn tied for 59th at 11-over 155 (73-82).
