Utah State Golfers Continue Spring Season In Arizona at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team continues its spring season this week as it travels to Scottsdale, Ariz., to compete in the 11th annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9 at the Talking Stick Golf Club, North Course.
The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a 7:30 a.m. (PT) shotgun start both days. The course is a par-70 covering 7,133 yards.
Joining Utah State in the 24-team field will be Air Force, Arizona, Boise State, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Idaho, Kansas State, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Old Dominion, Santa Clara, St. Mary's, Tulsa, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Utah, UTEP, Weber State, Wichita State and host Wyoming.
Utah State has participated in three tournaments thus far this spring as it finished tied for sixth at the Southern Utah hosted Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational, while also placing sixth at the Cal State Fullerton hosted Folino Invitational. In its last competition, USU placed eighth at the Cal Poly hosted Match Play Championships.
Higham currently leads Utah State with a stroke average of 73.15 in 20 rounds, followed by Jeon (74.35), Platke (75.10), Dennis (77.12) and Waxler (77.80).
Higham is the only Aggie who competed at last year's Wyoming Cowboy Classic as he finished tied for 57th at 5-over par 215 (66-68-81). As a team, Utah State finished in 23rd-place in last year's Wyoming Cowboy Classic with a 45-over 885 (287-289-309).
