Utah State Golfers Continue Spring Season In Arizona At Wyoming Cowboy Classic

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team continues its spring season this week as it travels to Scottsdale, Ariz., to compete in the 10th annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday and Tuesday, April 9-10 at the Talking Stick Golf Club, North Course.
The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a 7:30 a.m. (PT) shotgun start both days. The course is a par-70 covering 7,133 yards.
Joining Utah State in the 23-team field will be Air Force, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Cal State Northridge, Gonzaga, Kansas, Kansas State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Old Dominion, San Diego, Santa Clara, Texas Tech, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Weber State, Wichita State and host Wyoming.
In its last competition, Utah State won the consolation bracket of the Cal Poly hosted Lamkin Grip Match Play Challenge it defeated Towson (3.0-2.0) and Cal Poly `B' (3.5-1.5) after losing to Fresno State (5.0-0.0) in its opening match.
Coburn currently leads Utah State with a stroke average of 75.35 in 20 rounds, followed by Jenson (75.45), Paulson (76.00) and Higham (76.07). Sayer will be competing in his first event of the season for USU this week.
Godderidge is the only current Aggie who competed at last year's Wyoming Cowboy Classic as he finished tied for 30th at 5-over par 215 (68-82-65) after shooting a career-low 65 during his final round in 2011. As a team, Utah State finished in 17th-place in last year's Wyoming Cowboy Classic with a 33-over 873 (296-294-283).
