LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's golf team continues its spring season this week as it travels to Santa Barbara, Calif., to compete in the OGIO-UCSB Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15 at the Sandpiper Golf Club.

The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with an 8:15 a.m. (PT) shotgun start Monday and a 7:30 a.m. (PT) shotgun start Tuesday. The course is a par-72 covering 7,068 yards.

Joining Utah State in the 10-team field will be Air Force, Cal State Northridge, Fresno State, Long Beach State, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Utah and host UC Santa Barbara.

Scheduled to compete for the Aggies will be senior Tanner Higham, junior Grahm Schmaltz, sophomores Seokwon Jeon and Reed Platke, and freshman Braxton Miller.

Jeon leads Utah State with a stroke average of 72.00 over 26 rounds this year, while Higham has a stroke average of 72.77 over 26 rounds. Schmaltz has a stroke average of 75.81 over 21 rounds, Miller has a stroke average of 75.94 over 17 rounds, and Platke has a stroke average of 78.36 over 11 rounds.

During its last tournament, Utah State finished in 11th-place out of 21 teams with a 26-over 866 (290-302-274) at the Wyoming hosted Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz. Jeon carded a collegiate-low 7-under 63 during his final round to finish tied for fourth-place with a 4-under 206 (71-72-63). The 7-under 63 by Jeon is the best round by an Aggie golfer since Brendon Ehlers carded an 8-under 63 at the Boise State hosted Bronco Roundup on Oct. 10, 2005. Jeon also tied his collegiate-best 54-hole score with his 4-under 206, matching the 206 he shot at the Utah Invitational last fall to win that tournament at 7-under par (67-71-68). Miller also had his best day as a collegiate golfer as he carded a collegiate-low 70 to finish tied for 46th-place with an 8-over 218 (73-75-70), which is his best 54-hole score and best tournament finish at the collegiate level. Higham finished tied for 54th-place with a 9-over 219 (73-75-71), Schmaltz tied for 72nd-place with a 14-over 224 (73-80-71) and freshman Eli Rogers tied for 92nd-place with an 18-over 228 (77-81-70).
