Aggie Golfers Open 2013 Season at Weber State Hosted Battle in the Tetons

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team will begin its 2013 fall season on Monday, Sept. 2 at the third-annual Battle in the Tetons hosted by Weber State University. The two-day, 54-hole tournament, will be held at the Headwaters Golf Club at Teton Springs Resort in Victor, Idaho.
The tournament, which gets underway Monday at 8 a.m., will play at par-72 over the 7,373-yard layout. Teams will play two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday.
Scheduled to compete for the Aggies is senior Tanner Higham (Shelley, Idaho), junior Grahm Schmaltz (Kalispell, Mont.), sophomores Seokwon Jeon (Salt Lake City, Utah) and Reed Platke (Whitefish, Mont.), and freshman Eli Rogers (Hamilton, Mont.).
Higham played 28 rounds for Utah State last season and finished with a stroke average of 73.57, while Jeon played 28 rounds and had a stroke average of 74.82. Platke also played 28 rounds a year ago and finished with a stroke average of 75.46.
At last year's Battle in the Tetons, Utah State finished tied for third with a 24-over 888 (307-286-295), while Higham placed fifth individually with a 1-under 215 (74-71-70). Jeon tied for 15th with a 5-over 221 (79-70-72) and Platke tied for 24th with an 11-over 227 (74-77-76).
