
Aggie Golfers Play At Oral Roberts Shootout This Monday And Tuesday

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team is set to begin play at its third tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30, as it travels to Broken Arrow, Okla., to compete in the 2008 Oral Roberts Shootout. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will tee-off at 8 a.m. (CDT), featuring 36 holes on Monday and a 18-hole championship round on Tuesday at the Golf Club of Oklahoma. The 7,183-yard par-72 course was ranked as one of the top four courses in Oklahoma by Golf Digest in May, 2005. Utah State will compete against a field of 11 teams, including some unfamiliar foes for the 2008 season such as Missouri State, Northern Illinois, Texas State and the tournament host Oral Roberts. Competing for Utah State will be seniors Devin Daniels, Tyler Labrum and Toph Peterson, along with junior Thad Truman and sophomore Benjamin Schilleman. Schilleman leads the team with a 73.16 stroke average, followed by Daniels, Peterson and Labrum, averaging 74.33, 74.50 and 74.66, respectively. Utah State slated a 10th-place out of 17 teams in its second tournament of the fall season at the Ron Moore Invitational hosted by Denver University as Schilleman led the way, finishing tied for 26th individually with a three-over par 219.
