Men's Golf Set To Compete In 2007 Bill Cullum Invitational

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's golf team will participate in its third event of the 2007-08 season when it travels to Simi Valley, Calif., to participate in the 2007 Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15-16. The tournament, which is hosted by Cal State Northridge, will be held at the Wood Ranch Golf Club.

The 54-hole tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday with two rounds of continuous play. The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. The Wood Ranch Golf Course is a par-72 course with a total yardage of 6,796.

The 16-team field consists of Cal State Bakersfield, Drake, Gonzaga, Idaho State, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Portland, Sacramento State, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State and two teams from Cal State Northridge.

Competing for the Aggies will be senior Jeremy Pack (Salt Lake City, Utah), junior Devin Daniels (Smithfield, Utah) and freshmen Dan Heath (Smithfield, Utah), Chanse Godderidge (Smithfield, Utah) and Toph Peterson (Logan, Utah).

Daniels leads the Aggies with scoring average of 71.3 after five rounds of play, which includes a single-round low of 68 during the final day of competition at the Purple & Red Invitational as he tied for third in the tournament.

Utah State finished in 18th-place in its first competition of the year at the Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force and then placed 14th at the Purple & Red Invitational hosted by Weber State and Utah.
