Christian Wright enters his 18th season as the Utah State men and women's head tennis coach. Wright, a native of St. George, Utah, attended Pineview HS where he was a two-time state champion at No. 1 singles in 1984 and 1985. In high school, he lettered in three sports including, tennis, football and soccer. Wright then went on to play tennis at Dixie College (1985-86) and qualified for nationals, in Tyler, Texas. In 1986, he served a two-year LDS Church Mission in Alberta, Canada. Following that, Wright came to Utah State where he graduated in 1991 with a degree in parks and recreation. Following graduation, Wright was the head tennis pro in Elmira, N.Y., and also spent one year as a youth counselor before moving back to Cache Valley. Along with his coaching, he is also a local real estate agent. Wright married his wife, Mindi, on Aug. 21, 1989 and the couple have three daughters, Madison (16), Kennedy (13) and McCartney (7). He enjoys spending time with family, reading and golfing when he is not coaching. |
