Utah States Mens Tennis Sweeps Northern Colorado

Utah State men's tennis team beat Northern Colorado on Friday 6-1. The Aggies are now 2-3 this spring season.

The Aggies won all three of its double matches against bears. At the No. 1 spot Johannes Zelle and partner Joao Pinho defeated Peter Weyhrich and Chris Minihan 8-5.

The Aggies dominated in singles action winning five of the six matches. Not letting his opponent score in the first set Johannes Zelle defeated Peter Weyhrich 6-0, 6-2 taking the No. 1 spot. The Aggies placed in every spot except No. 3 with Vinnie Fallico of Northern Colorado defeating JJ Netto 6-1, 6-2.

This is Aggies second win of the spring season. "It was nice to get another win for our team," said coach Christian Wright. "We talked about what we need to do to improve our game for conference games and focus on that."

The Aggies will be in action again on Feb. 4 in Las Cruces against New Mexico State. The match will start at 1 p.m.
