Utah State Men's Falls to In-State Rival Weber State, 4-3, Wednesday

OGDEN, Utah -
Utah State men's tennis was defeated by in-state rival Weber State, 4-3, Wednesday in Ogden. USU, who falls to 5-10 on the season, won one doubles matches and three of the singles matches against the Wildcats.
In singles play, senior Sven Poslusny defeated Jakub Gewert in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 4-2) at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 2 spot, junior Fredrik Peterson fell to Todd Fought in straight sets (6-1, 7-5). At the No. 3 spot, sophomore Matt Sweet took down Oliver Good in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 7-5) and at the No. 4 spot, sophomore Marcus Fritz took down Caio Poitena in straight sets (6-1, 7-5). At the No. 5 spot, sophomore Sean Levesque was defeated by Sanjay Gaswami in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). And at the No. 6 spot, sophomore Curran Wearmouth fell to Ryan Garner in straight sets (7-6, 7-5).
in doubles play, Poslusny and Sweet won the only match for the Aggies when they defeated Poiena and Good at the first doubles position, 8-5. In the second doubles position, Levesque and Peterson were taken down by Gaswami and Fought, 8-5). And at the third doubles position, Fritz and junior partner Andrew Whiting fell to Trabert and Garner, 8-6.
The Aggies will next hit the road to take on Western Athletic Conference foe UTSA on Friday April 15 in San Antonio, Texas. Play will begin at 1:30 p.m. (MT).
