USU Men's Tennis Clawed by Wildcats Wednesday

OGDEN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis fell to Weber State, 7-0, Wednesday in Ogden,. The Aggies fall to 5-12 on the season as the Wildcats improve to 8-7. This is the third time USU and WSU have gone head-to-head this season, and Weber State is 3-0 in the series this year. Freshman Jakob Asplund and senior Fernando Gallegos won the Aggies only match, winning at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, against Sascha Kiehne and Fabio Mancarella. Utah State fell at No. 2 and 3 doubles giving Weber State the double point. In singles sophomore Alex Thatcher battled to three sets, but fell to WSU's Spencer Marchant, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in the No. 6 spot. The Aggies will continue action Friday, April 11 when they host Northern Colorado at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan at 1 p.m. This will be USU's final home match of the season.
