Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season With 6-1 Loss To UC Santa Barbara

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Utah State's men's tennis team fell, 6-1, to UC Santa Barbara Thursday here at Liberty Park.

In the No.2 singles match, sophomore Oscar Ericsson defeated Bijan Hejazi, 6-3, 6-4. Senior Jonas Tyden battled UC Santa Barbara's Max Taylor but lost, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles match. At the No. 6 match, Matt Braithwaite fell to Taylor Chavez Goggin, 5-7, 6-4, 1-0, 10-4.

In doubles play, Jacob Asplund and Fernando Gallegos were defeated by Philip Therp and Hejazi 8-5. At the No. 2 seat, Tyden and Ericsson lost to Alexander Konigsfeldt and Josh Finkelstein, 8-6.

Utah State concludes its regular season with a 6-13 record, and will return to action on April 24-27 when it travels to Las Cruces, N.M., to compete in the 2008 Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
