TULSA, Okla. - For the second-time in three years, Utah State senior men's tennis player Sven Poslusny competed in the prestigious Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's All-American Pre-Qualifying Championship in Tulsa at Case Tennis Center.

In the opening round Saturday, Poslusny fought hard but fell in straight sets to Eastern Washington's Joseph Cohen (7-6 {7}, 6-2). The senior will still be in action on Sunday, Sept. 30 in the consolation draw.

This is the eighth-straight year that the University of Tulsa is the site of the ITA Men's All-American Championships. The tournament kicked off with pre-qualifying matches starting on Saturday, while the main draw is set to begin on Oct. 4. Some of the nation's best will be taking part in the tournament.

The Aggies senior is one of four Western Athletic Conference players to take part in the pre-qualifying Championship. Luis Fernando Ramirez, Marc Westgate and Daniel Fernandez from New Mexico State are also taking part. Denver's Enej Bonin has already earned a spot in the main draw.

The Aggies are next set to compete in at the Utah Intercollegiates in Salt Lake City on October 11-13.
