Aggie Men Dominate Day One of the Dar Walters Tennis Classic

BOISE, Idaho - Utah State's men's tennis team had a great first day at the Dar Walters Tennis Classic in Boise, Idaho on Friday, winning seven matches and seeing three players advance to two different quarterfinals in singles draws, while a doubles team advanced to the quarterfinals as well.
In the Orange Flight singles draw, freshman Sebastian Schneider and junior Sean Levesque both advanced to the quarterfinals after earning two victories each. Schneider started the tournament with a win over Montana's Eric Braun (6-4, 7-5), and capturing another win against Portland State's Brent Wheeler (4-6, 6-4, 6-3) later in the day.
Levesque squared off against border-foe Idaho State's Cody Miller (6-0, 6-2) before capturing a win against Eastern Washington's Stefan Farrar (6-1, 7-5).
In the Blue Flight singles draw, freshman Dennis Baumgartner defeated Lewis & Clark's Alberto Sanz (6-1, 6-4) in the round of 32, before ending the day with a win against Montana's Simeon Branzburg (6-4, 7-5). Senior Fredrik Peterson lost to Mountain West Conference rival Boise State's Abe Hewko (7-6, 6-0).
In the Blue Flight doubles draw, the freshman team of Sebastian Schneider and Dennis Baumgartner earned a Round of 16 over Will Cochrane and Wheeler of Portland State (8-7 (5)). Andrew Warren and Peter Mimnagh-Fleming of Montana defeated Levesque and Peterson (8-5).
The Aggies are back in action Saturday at the Dar Walters Tennis Classic.
