Sebastian Schneider Wins the Orange Flight Singles Bracket

BOISE, Idaho - Aggie freshman Sebastian Schneider emerged as the champion of the Orange Flight singles bracket Sunday at the Dar Walters Tennis Classic in Boise, Idaho, hosted by Boise State.
On Saturday, Schneider won his quarterfinals and semifinals matchups to advance to the finals on Sunday. In the quarterfinals, Schneider defeated Seattle's Riley Newman (6-3, 6-0). In the semifinals, Schneider faced the number-one seed in Weber State's Caio Poitena and captured a three-set victory (2-6, 7-6, 6-1).
In the finals on Sunday, Schneider defeated Montana's Peter Mimnagh-Fleming (7-6(4), 7-5), who had earlier beat Aggie junior Sean Levesque in the quarterfinals (6-3, 5-7, 6-3).
During Saturday's Blue Flight action, Artemiy Nikitin of border-foe Idaho defeated Dennis Baumgartner (6-4, 6-2) in the quarterfinals, while Fredrik Peterson earned a win over Portland State's Will Cochrane (6-2, 6-4) in the consolation draw before losing to Idaho's Odon Barta (6-4, 6-7, 10-6).
On Saturday's Blue Flight doubles play, Nikitin and Barta defeated Schneider and Baumgartner (8-2), handing Schneider his only loss of the weekend.
Utah State's men's tennis returns to action this weekend, Oct. 11, at the Utah Invitational.
