Salt Lake City - Two Aggies remained in quarterfinal round of open singles play at the Utah Invitational on Friday. Joao Pinho was later eliminated by Zach Ganger of Utah 6-4, 6-4, and teammate Dantley Young was defeated by Nils Kemann of Boise State 6-3, 6-3.

Three Utah State players led the Aggies into the semifinal singles consolation round of play. Kevin Stanworth beat Jon Bair of Boise in the quarterfinal round 6-4, 7-5. Brad Ferguson defeated teammate Lukas Bouton 6-3, 6-0 to advance and Hannes Schenke was the third Aggie to advance by beating Daniel Abeaboeru of Weber Sate 6-3, 6-1. All three will compete again on Saturday.

Also in singles consolation play, Brian Ballam was eliminated in the quarterfinal round by Darrel Thomas of Weber, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles consolation play Brad Ferguson and Kevin Stanworth advanced to the final round by beating Abeaboeru of Weber and Bair of Boise 8-4.

The tournament will finish on Saturday.
