USU Men's Tennis Eliminated in Second Day of Utah Intercollegiates Action

In the second day of Utah Intercollegiates play, Utah State men's tennis competed in singles play along with both doubles and singles consolation bracket. All played well but by the end of the day none remained.
In singles play, senior Sven Poslusny defeated Ben Tasevac of Utah (6-3, 6-1), but Poslusny was then defeated in the quarterfinals by the Utes' Slim Hamza (6-3, 6-2). Junior Brandon Nielsen was defeated in the second round of consolation action by Nikki Rae of BYU (6-3, 6-2). Sophomore Matt Sweet fell to BYU's Travis Fillmore (6-2, 6-3), and junior teammate Fredrik Peterson (6-3, 6-1) eliminated freshman Zeno Kastelic.In the next round, Peterson was then defeated by Todd Fought of Weber State (6-4, 6-0).
In the doubles consolation bracket, sophomore Curran Wearmouth and Kastelic were defeated by Ryan Garner and Anthony Trabert of Weber State (8-3).
The Aggie men will end their fall schedule at the ITA Regionals Tournament next weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
