LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Utah State freshman Jakob Asplund won in singles consolation and doubles consolation at day three of the ITA Regionals in Las Vegas, Nev. on Friday.

Asplund defeated UNLV's Brian Miller in two sets, 6-1, 6-1, in the third round of singles consolation. Asplund battled to three sets in the fourth round of consolation falling, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0, to New Mexico State's Stefan McKinney.

In doubles action Asplund teamed up with sophomore Oscar Ericsson to defeat Northern Arizona's Renzo Lau and Jeffrey Morys, 9-7, in the third round of consolations.

Action continues on Saturday in the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.
