Utah State Men's Tennis Defeated at Idaho State, 4-3

POCATELLO, Idaho -
Despite winning three singles matches, Utah State's men's tennis team lost at Idaho State, 4-3, Thursday to fall to 0-2 on the season.
In singles play, senior Sven Poslusny defeated Idaho State's Krzysztof Stempien at the No. 1 spot in straight sets (7-5, 6-3). Junior Fredrick Peterson also posted a singles win for USU, defeating Charles Norman at the No. 3 spot also in straight sets (7-6 (7-3) 6-3). And sophomore Curran Wearmouth won in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) at the No. 6 spot against the Bengals' Austin Miller.
In other singles matches, USU sophomore Marcus Fritz lost to Christian Marian in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) at the No. 2 spot. Aggie sophomore Matt Sweet lost in three sets (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) at the No. 4 spot to Nate Gross, and fellow sophomore Sean Levesque lost in straight sets at the No. 5 spot (6-2, 6-0) to ISU's Jamey Swiggart.
In doubles play, Poslusny and Fritz lost, 8-4, at the No. 1 spot to Gross and Norman, while Sweet and Levesque fell against Swiggart and Marian, 8-5, at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 doubles, junior Brandon Neilsen and Peterson took on Andres Coello and Stempien, but the match was left unfinished with the Bengals up 6-4.
The Aggies next travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to take on UNLV on Friday, Jan. 25. Their first home match will be Saturday, Feb. 6, against Weber State.
