Utah State Hosts Portland State Friday In Men's Tennis Dual

LOGAN, Utah - In its second home meet of the season, Utah State's men's tennis team will host Portland State on Friday, Feb. 15. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. (MT) at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.

The Aggies are 1-7 on the season after losing to in-state foe Weber State, 5-2, on Wednesday in USU's home-opener. Portland State is 0-4 on the year, having lost to Montana State and UC Davis in the Vikings' last action on Saturday.

In Wednesday's home loss, freshman Jakob Asplund won at No. 1 singles while senior Jonas Tyden won at No. 4 singles. Sophomore Oscar Ericsson and senior Fernando Gallegos won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-6.

Utah State will continue its three-match homestand on Saturday, Feb. 23, hosting Western Athletic Conference foe Nevada at 11 a.m. (MT) at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
