Utah State Men's Tennis Hosts Weber State and Colorado Mesa In A Saturday Doubleheader

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's tennis team (3-5, 0-0 MW) hosts a doubleheader this weekend when in-state rival Weber State (4-5, 1-0 Big Sky) and border-foe Colorado Mesa (0-2, 0-0 RMAC) travel to Logan for a pair of matches on Saturday, Feb. 22. The start time for Weber State is scheduled for 9 a.m., while the Colorado Mesa match is slated for 1 p.m. Both matches will be held at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
Last season, the Aggies defeated the Wildcats at home, 4-3, with senior Fredrik Peterson and junior Matt Sweet winning their singles matches. Junior Marcus Fritz teamed up with former Aggie player and current assistant coach Sven Poslusny to win a doubles match, and Sweet paired up with senior Andrew Whiting for another doubles win.
The Aggies also faced Colorado Mesa last year, with the Aggies sweeping the Mavericks, 7-0. Peterson, Sweet, Whiting, and juniors Curran Wearmouth and Sean Levesque all won singles matches. Sweet teamed up with Poslusny in doubles for a win, Levesque and Peterson earned a doubles win, and Wearmouth and Whiting won their doubles match, as well.
