Utah State Men's Tennis Faces Familiar Foe When Idaho Travels To Logan

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's men's tennis team (5-5, 0-0 MW) finishes off a three-match homestand when former Western Athletic Conference foe Idaho (5-6, 1-1 WAC) travels to Logan on Friday, Feb. 28, for an 11 a.m. match at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
Last season, the Aggies lost to the Vandals, 7-0, in Logan. Competing for the Aggies was senior Fredrik Peterson, junior Matt Sweet, junior Curran Wearmouth, junior Sean Levesque and senior Andrew Whiting. Utah State is in search of its first dual match win against Idaho since 2007.
On the season, freshman Dennis Baumgartner is 5-5 at No. 1 singles, freshman Sebastian Schneider is 5-1 in singles playing at the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively, and junior Matt Sweet is 5-4 playing in four different spots in the lineup.
Sweet and Schneider have teamed up for four doubles wins during spring dual match play, while Baumgartner and junior Marcus Fritz have partnered up for three wins.
Idaho boasts the No. 11 and No. 12-ranked singles players in the Mountain Region, as well as the top-ranked doubles tandem.
