Utah State Men's Tennis Takes on Air Force in Regular Season Finale on Sunday
April 14, 2018

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's tennis (15-8, 6-0 MW) will look to end the regular season with a perfect Mountain West regular season record when the Aggies take on Air Force (11-12, 1-4 MW) on Sunday, April 15, at noon, in USAFA, Colo. USU has already captured at least a share of the Mountain West regular season championship, and a victory on Sunday would make the Aggies the outright champion.

"Our match with Air Force will be a difficult challenge," head coach James Wilson said. "They have improved and are tough to deal with, especially on their courts. Our team will need to be ready for tough conditions and a spirited opponent."

Utah State is led in singles by sophomore Sergiu Bucur who is 11-6 at the Nos. 1 through 3 spots, and senior Jaime Barajas who is 11-7 at the Nos. 1 and 2 spots. In doubles, Barajas and freshman Jose Carvajal lead with a 9-6 mark at the No. 1 spot.

Air Force leads Utah State, 7-5, in program history, but USU has come out victorious in the last three meetings. Air Force is led in singles by freshman Paul Hendrix who is 14-6 at the Nos. 3 through 6 spots. The tandems of junior Tadhg Collins and sophomore Mack Galvin, junior Isaac Perez and freshman Patrick Sklenka, and Hendrix and freshman Jamie Bautista have each recorded eight victories in doubles.
