Utah State Men's and Women's Tennis Teams To Host Tennis Clinic Thursday In Salt Lake City
Aug. 18, 2014
LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis head coach Sean McInerney, men's tennis head coach Clancy Shields and student-athletes from both teams will be holding a tennis clinic on Thursday, Aug. 21, in Salt Lake City. Check in starts at 5:45 p.m. at the Salt Lake Tennis Club, and will run until 9 p.m.
"This is going to be such a great opportunity to connect with not only the USU tennis alumni but the tennis community in Salt Lake City," McInerney said. "We have an amazing group of student-athletes, and this event will highlight the excitement that is building for the Utah State tennis programs."
Refreshments will be provided, and the clinic is open to all ages and skill levels. Utah State coaches and student-athletes will hand out prizes and awards to participants, as well as host a targeting game for children. There will also be a dance party and an auction. The cost is $20 per person.
For more information, contact either McInerney at firstname.lastname@example.org or Shields at email@example.com.
Utah State's men's tennis team returns the top four players in singles wins from a year ago as sophomores Dennis Baumgartner and Sebastian Schneider, as well as juniors Marcus Fritz and Matt Sweet all are set to compete this season. The women's tennis team lost no student-athletes to graduation, and return its lone all-Mountain West performer in senior McKenzie Davis. Last season, Davis set a school record with 17 dual-match singles wins.
